18kt Gold & Silver PSTM Jordan Gold Jump Ring Necklace

Stone: Silver

This piece is inspired by ancient chain techniques from the middle east, the rolls of wire creating a thick rounded link.
We have added the central gold links to bring a warm light to the piece.

The unisex collection was inspired by the use and mix of these two precious metals during the Roman, Persian and Ottoman Empires in the middle east. The area was the birthplace of modern civilisations, farming, trade and has a fascinating history of movement, innovation, arts and science.

There are not a great many naturally occurring gemstones in the region, so I wanted to concentrate on the locally sourced materials. Proudly working with our third country with the Turquoise Mountain Foundation arts project in Jordan. Training and supporting artisans displaced by war from Syria, Yeman, Iraq and Palestine.

Turquoise Mountain has spent the last twelve years specialising in bringing high-end artisan products to international markets. As the Syrian conflict enters its seventh year, the traditions which provide meaning and pride for people have been endangered. They have begun their work in Jordan with the aim of training a new generation of Syrian and Jordanian artisans to maintain important cultural traditions, which will create jobs and support artisan businesses.
