Thirty Years in Ethical Jewellery

I began my business at a very different time in so many ways. A lot within the jewellery industry has changed for the better, with more demands for transparency and vigilante sourcing, there are some standards in place for small-scale gold mines that have worked to become certified fair trade or fair mined. The digital world allows us to tell visual stories of the places and people we work with but climate breakdown has impacted those in the remote regions where gold and gems are often found causing conflict over resources and increasing poverty.

We are proud to have had our shop in Notting Hill for over 17 years, in Santa Monica for 15 years, and to have collaborated with arts charity Turquoise Mountain for over 15 years in Afghanistan, Myanmar, Jordan, and the West Bank.

We are thrilled to work in Colombia with eco-gold, traditional artisans, and Elen Moda. We hope the world will continue to value the extraordinary skills of master craftsmen and ethically sourced materials and the unique cultural contexts in which we make our jewellery, providing jobs, and keeping heritage skills alive." - Pippa Small
