Palestine
Pippa works in glass and gold in Palestine with the same mission since day one: to create collections that honour traditional craft and artisans.
Pippa began her Palestinian collaborations in Bethlehem, where many traditions are practiced but at risk of disappearing. Through her work, Pippa aims to celebrate traditional craftsmanship and showcase the skills of talented artisans.
In Bethlehem, Pippa is partnering with the 'Golden Zaytouna' workshop, led by artisans Tawfeeq and Samer Qattan; father and son, and Nadira Alaraj. Their work is centred around the olive leaf, an ancient symbol of peace and wisdom deeply ingrained in Palestinian cultural heritage.
In the spring of 2025, Pippa travelled to Jaba’, Palestine, to meet Palestinian glassblower Mohammad Twam, whom she was introduced to through Turquoise Mountain. Twam is a master of his craft and has been working with glass for over 40 years. In collaboration with Twam, the ‘Azaz’ – meaning ‘glass’ in local Palestinian dialect – collection was created. Made entirely of handblown glass, the Azaz collection was inspired by ancient beads that have been worn, handled, and loved for centuries.
