Tender Greens
Tender Greens is a collection made with arts charity Turquoise Mountain, founded by King Charles in 2006 to promote arts and craft training and livelihoods in conflict areas. The artisans in Myanmar are incredibly skilled, and their completely hand-made gold work is superb. Predominantly a Buddhist nation, the goldsmiths take a very spiritual approach to their work.
This season we have worked a collection of green gems: diopside, peridot and tourmaline. Named ‘Tender’ primarily after the young shoot colour of plants, the collection’s name also refers to the gold charms, chains, rings, earrings, and bracelets woven through this collection. The pieces feature a gold string of nature motifs to symbolise the Buddhist philosophy that we are all connected. We are all linked: a river, an elephant, a cloud and a plant are all interdependent.
This collection gently reminds us that we are all one.
