The Middle Path
As I thought about a new collection, my mind kept returning to a dominant thought: we need to explore the greys in life, not just the blacks and whites, but really appreciate the subtlety and message of grey.
Our world has become increasingly split in extremes, and my thought was to create a collection exploring the greys of the in-between. I chose two gems with high lustre and a sparkle that reflects and transmits a gentle light to celebrate the middle path. Spinels from Myanmar whose natural colours spread from cement to stormy grey; grey diamonds that play with the light like ice and slate, dove and frost. The colours are textured and interesting, creating a halo of light and a message of harmony and unity.
A nest of grey gems cluster tightly in a ring held with delicate claws, a necklace of dancing stones, of subtle light and sparkle, and long earrings and core pieces such as studs, cup rings and a full-stone bracelet.
