18kt Gold Nila Swivel Ring

£6,600

Nila, the Sanskrit meaning for blue, is a collection that explores shades of blue from teal to a deep midnight indigo sky.

We worked with Burmese Sapphires from a family-run mine in Mogok and 18kt Gold stars to represent the Seven Sisters of the Pleiades. The heavens have long fascinated us with their dark, unreachable mysteries.

Handmade by our talented artisans in Jaipur, India, where we wove in Sri Lankan Sapphires into our classic styles of Greek rings, single drop earrings, amulets, and chain necklaces that encompass all shades of blue, from bright sky blue to worn denim, punctuated by monolithic slices of Afghan Lapis, all set in 18kt gold.

Sushil

Born in Jaipur Sushil and I have worked together for about 15 years, Sushil learned his skill from his family, his uncle Khen Raj who was a master goldsmith and has been a goldsmith for 25 years.

He specialises in hand work and is very proud and loves his work. Sushil and I have spent many hours studying seeds, leaves and flowers to replicate these minute miracles of nature in gold. He has a wonderful instinctive sense of beauty, proportion, balance and harmony in design.
