Pippa's Travel Diaries: Japan

In July I made my annual pilgrimage to Tokyo to present our latest collections of jewellery with Barneys New York in Roppongi, Ginza and Yokohama.
I’ve been travelling to Japan for over 25 years now. This year I brought new collections with me to Barney’s, wondrous abalone shell pieces and dazzling opals from our Beachcomber and Alectrona collections. I also brought a large selection of pendants with me, and it was lovely to be able to help new and old friends create their own amulets.
It was also an extra treat to see the jewellery at Arts&Science in Aoyama. It was wonderful to see old friends, exchange news of the past year and discuss life.

It is always a highlight of my year to travel to Japan. A country like no other, alive with beauty, culture, and mystery. I am always in awe in Japan.

This year the twins and I travelled south to the islands off Okinawa to experience a little of a very different culture. The islands were breathtakingly beautiful, peaceful and the water exquisite.

Japan is an inspiration to me, its arts and crafts so alive, vibrant, and present.
