Pippa Small × Cloth.Work: a Precious Way to Mend

We each have a few pieces that feel like part of us. A simple, perfect jumper; a ring that lives on our hand, a necklace in permanent position. They become extensions of ourselves. They reflect who we are and carry our memories.
When our beloved things begin to show signs of wear, therein lies the opportunity to deepen that attachment. Whether it be clothing, jewellery, or any matter of things, a repair builds character and adds a story. A damaged piece can become more quintessentially us, reflecting how we can care for the things around us.
Pippa Small and Cloth.Work share an ethos: that things get better with age. We both believe that what we love becomes part of us, grows with us and should age well, just like we do.

For this collaboration, Cloth.Work interprets Pippa Small’s signature gold-threaded talismans through hand-worked mends. Clients select precious stones and gold beads to be incorporated into gold-threaded mends: whether a small glimmer at a cuff or a more expressive arrangement of stitches and stones, the repair becomes a personal detail that transforms a damage into a truly precious, beloved piece that evolves with its owner.
Your item doesn’t have to be in need of repair. If you simply wish to adorn a loved piece, we can do exactly that.

How it works
- Visit Pippa Small at 201 Westbourne Grove.
- Choose the beads you’d like to include in your mend, and how you’d like them laid out.
- Return a few weeks later to collect your beautifully hand-mended garment.
Cloth.Work founder Sasha Sarokin earned a master’s at the University of Cambridge by researching how to slow consumption and deepen our attachment to fewer, better things. Cloth.Work was the result: a small collection of heritage clothes and an artisanal mending service.
Available in shop or as a bespoke service, the collaboration invites you to bring us a piece you love. Together, we’ll give it a bejewelled Cloth.Work mend, and another chapter in its story.
