There is a wonderful tradition of articulated silverfish jewel work in Myanmar around Lake Inle. The Shan people create wondrously playful, handmade pieces, which are usually worn in pairs by both males and females.
The workshop of the brilliant goldsmiths of arts charity Turquoise Mountain in Yangon has created a wonderful school of fish for this collection. From needlefish and catfish to large, mythical fish, these golden beauties are exquisite and showcase their tremendous skill. This has been a challenging year in Myanmar, and the artisans again show their resilience and triumph through their work.
