Zarmina Collection
The Zarmina collection is made in Afghanistan, where the glorious cardamom is used in coffee, tea, and much of the fragrant cooking. It is a spice the Afghan makers are very familiar with.
Cardamom symbolises prosperity, wealth, and often can be found at weddings in Asia to symbolise fertility. We chose a number of cardamom seeds bought in the market in Kabul for a variety of shapes and sizes, and cast them all. The result is a riot of heavy gold-plated silver pieces. Single seeds hang as earrings, two seeds adorn a ring, and we have created long ropes of gold vermeil seeds interlinked on long, layering chains.
The Zarmina collection is a wonderful celebration of a beautiful seed, rich in symbolism and meaning of new beginnings, new life, and all the potential of abundance a seed can hold.
