18kt Gold Peepal Leaf Earrings

$3,645
The Peepal tree is a sacred tree to both Hindus and Buddhists in India. Believed to be the tree under which the Buddha achieved enlightenment, Vishnu was born under it and it is believed to be inhabited by spirits as the nature of the pointed leaves the tree appears to rustle constantly. It is also a fertility tree and women wishing a child walk around the tree. We have created a collection in auspicious gold around this precious tree to evoke its good favour.

Sushil

Born in Jaipur Sushil and I have worked together for about 15 years, Sushil learned his skill from his family, his uncle Khen Raj who was a master goldsmith and has been a goldsmith for 25 years.

He specialises in hand work and is very proud and loves his work. Sushil and I have spent many hours studying seeds, leaves and flowers to replicate these minute miracles of nature in gold. He has a wonderful instinctive sense of beauty, proportion, balance and harmony in design.
