Pippa Small and Turquoise Mountain Jordan have partnered with The Swarovski Foundation to create a limited-edition jewellery collection, Sahlan. This collection helps promising young people from Jordan and surrounding countries begin their livelihoods in the craft of jewellery design and production.
 
With the assistance of Pippa Small and Turquoise Mountain’s in-house designer, Hala Haddadeen, and the support of The Swarovski Foundation, the Turquoise Mountain students created eight different designs inspired by the Islamic brass door-knocker motif, symbolizing the hospitality for which Jordan is famous.
 
Welcoming guests from near and far is a core value for Jordanians and others from the region, and this concept fed into the theme for and the ultimate name of the collection: Sahlan, derived from the Arabic phrase for “welcome”.
